Social Networking has opened up a whole new world for many of us….facebook and other similar sites now mean that we can be reunited with old friends and can play the voyeur and check out who’s doing what.

The problem is that many social networks are like the ‘Hotel California’ – ‘You can check in anytime you like but you can never leave.’ For any of you who have tried to erase yourself completely from a particular social network you know sometimes just how tricky it can be.

It must be said though that particularly in SA I reckon it’s a good idea to have a facebook account in particular. It doesn’t need to be active but when someone says ‘Oh I’m not on facebook I think it’s a load of crap’ I chuckle and tell them they probably are….you know the whole 7 degrees of separation? Someone somewhere has named you in a pic…..you just don’t know about it
