Animoto comes out of Beta

We’ve been fans of Animoto.com since the Beta launch in August 2007, to celebrate their one year anniversary Animoto have announced that they are finally coming out of Beta.

This site allows anyone to create cool animated videos complete with music and creative image transitions – all you do is load up your selected images, set the order sequence and then select music. The Animoto ‘engine’ does the rest, the mini movies are a fresh alternative to the sometimes boring run-of-the-mill powerpoint presentations. You don’t have to have any knowledge of movie-making or editing to produce a creative, professional end product, 30 second movies are free and longer movies are charged for at minimal rates.

- 4 million videos have been made on the Animoto platform
- more than 250,000 users in 200-some countries have registered on Animoto.com

Here are a few new features on Animoto.com:

- Cover image: Tired of our green screen?  Now you can pick any image to be used as the cover of your video!
- iPhone: Use Mobile Safari to watch your vids on your iPhone.
- Logos and panoramics: If you’ve tried to make videos from these odd-sized images in the past, you’ve realized that we didn’t do a great job with them.  But we’ve improved that, so check it out.
