The web is littered with Carousels because they provide a neat solution to merchandising many things on a site without leaving the user shell-shocked stumbling from catalogueitis.
The folks over at hulu (hulu.com) did a great execution. The carousel takes up over half the screen and leave you wanting to play with it, almost for hours.
